Quiet day in legal news yesterday

• NACC 19 Sept 2023 update re referrals, assessments and investigations.

  • 352 referrals excluded at the triage stage because they do not involve a Commonwealth public official or do not raise a corruption issue.

  • 238 referrals are pending triage.

  • 159 referrals are currently in active triage.

  • 158 referrals are currently under assessment.

  • 5 preliminary investigations

  • 3 investigations opened.

  • 6 active investigations inherited from the former Australian Commission for Law Enforcement Integrity.

• Munjed Al Muderis v Nine Network Australia Pty Ltd & Ors continues before Justice Abraham tomorrow. • QDC Welcome Ceremony for His Honour Judge Carl Heaton KC, His Honour Judge Joshua Treviño KC and His Honour Judge Benedict Power KC will be held in the Banco Court on Thursday 21 September 2023 at 9am.
